After many months of preparation, the Heart of Concern exhibition opened at the Maine Workshop's
Maine Media Gallery in Rockport, ME.

This was an especially meaningful venue because Yarka always spoke with great enthusiasm about her
experience with photographer Maggie Steber's photojournalism class. The poster image as well as the lead image
in the show was made as part of that workshop.

         We would like to thank everyone connected with the show, especially the recipients of Yarka Vendrinska
 Scholarships who donated works which were displayed with Yarka's, and those who hung  the show with great
sensitivity for the relationships between images.
